Synthesizing Voltage Dividers


ParSer can also synthesize resistor networks, which act as voltage dividers, by selecting RN:





U1 specifies the input voltage and U2 is the desired output voltage. Therefore U2 must not be higher than U1. Imin and Imax specify the minimum and maximum shunt currents respectively and Iload is the current that flows into the load connected to U2.


The above example shows how 3.2V can be generated from a 7V input. The total current through the network shall be between 10mA and 20mA and the load will consume 1mA at 3.2V.
